This weekend I will be at the “In memory of Jim clark” event at the Hockenheimring. This weekend will be the start of the 2009 NK HTGT (dutch championship for historic touring-cars and GT’s) season. Tachyon Motorsport brought 6 cars to compete in this event. For me it is the first time to visit the Hockenheimring. Last 2 years Tachyon went with les cars and my services where not required. Monday is the big day for the Paasraces (easter races) in Zandvoort. All the people from the team arrived early for the Easter traditional breakfast. Only without butter this was not really traditional (we still don’t know what happened with the butter we are still looking for it). After breakfast Allard prepared for his 25min race.
Michiel and Allard both did there qualifying session. Michiel had to drive against all the pro’s as a gentleman. Ofcourse this was a battle not to be won. He positioned himself at the back of the grid.

The dutch GT-4 season is finally on its way. Today we did a lot of fine tuning of all the components on the car. Both michiel and allard did some good lap times. Tomorrow morning there will be a qualifying session and then we know where we stand

Last Sunday I made a interior together with Denisse for all the radio equipment that we have to use for the GT4 Ford Mustang. Now that everything has its own place we don’t need to worry about that the rest of the season. Monday there will be a shake down test at Zandvoort to check if all new electronic systems will work and ofcourse how the car is running.

Testing in the winter season means bad weather but this bad ?
The morning session started with some rain but after a while the track became more and more dry. After the lunch break it started snowing and that gave some nice pictures.
It was not easy to keep the nose in the right direction.
It wasn’t a really good test for the drivers with these weather conditions but all the improvements to the data-logging equipment worked well. Now I can finally start collecting some realistic data to analyse.

The racing season is over!
So know it is fuel throttle to finish some school projects and start graduating.
Meanwhile I’m helping Tachyon to make a homologation for a new car for next season.

Thursday it was time to head to france for the trophées historiques de bourgogne. This is the last race of the dutch historic race championship. It was a nice route that took us to the track near Dijon. The last 20 km’s where a bit difficult for the three big size trucks but all the drivers managed to get there safely.
On Friday there was no free practise that gave the tachyon crew enough time to set up the entire camp.
Saturday the free practise started really early and that made it impossible to drive due to the fog. 30 min later it was finally clear enough to drive.
This weekend I worked on the yellow corvette of Michiel Campagne. Michiel complained that the gearbox had problems with the second gear. We decided to leave it like this till after the qualifying session that afternoon.
That night I took out the gearbox together with ronald and he made one good gearbox out of the two we took with us. Everything went well and we finished before the BBQ ended.
Two races where planned for Sunday without much time in between. Michiel had no problems winning the first race and the car feld ok to win the second one as well. Michiel made a plan with some other drivers to give a Little show by staying together till the last five laps. Then the jaguar e type was a little bit ahead but Michiel managed to go to first position again.
Everybody started packing all the trucks again and Sunday and Monday we will be driving home.
