The Dutch GT4 Championship ended this weekend. The Tachyon Motorsport team coulnd’t surprise the competition with a top 3 result. Michiel managed to score our only trophy of the championship by being 2nd in the gentleman drivers classification.
Allard did a live report from the car during race 3 which could have been seen on RTL 7 last Sunday. It can be seen again at RTL Gemist. I’m in the picture 2 times so a little action on national TV.
Let’s see how the Tachyon Motorsport Dutch GT4 project evolves next season.
Sunday afternoon Allard started the 3th race. It went well and he managed to take the car to the 8th place. The ABS system kept working and everything went well. In the middle of the race Michiel took the wheel and we dropped back 2 places. Michiel kept running solid lap times and reached the 9th place overall.
After all the setbacks this weekend we where pretty satisfied with this result. Next weekend Tachyon Motorsport will be in Zandvoort again for the State of Art GP Classic.
After almost an hour of waiting for the restart Michiel was ready to go.
But his race ended unfortunately really soon.
Immediately after the start the ABS system of the Mustang failed and Michiel was struggling to keep the car away from any damage. This resulted in 4 tires with flat spots. The car went into the Pits and the mechanics mounted 2 new front tyres as fast as possible.
Michiel went back on the track again and the ABS system failed again 300m away from the pit-lane. This time he was less lucky and he hit one of the barriers. The car came in pretty damaged and it took us till 2 o’clock to fix all the damaged. We borrowed a spare ABS computer from Racing Team Holland and tomorrow morning we will check if everything is working.
Sunday morning Allard was ready to drive race 2. After some resets the system was working and Allard could finally race with the Mustang instead of drive it. Unfortunately the stabilizer broke and he was struggling to keep the Mustang on the track. Allard managed to stay in 8th place and the team was happy to finish the race without any damage. Now we start preparing the car for race 3 where the drivers have to drive 50min with a mandatory driver change.

Both Michiel and Allard tried to do a good qualifying but the results where not what we hoped for.
The first race had a big accident in the first lap and we are still waiting for a restart.
This weekend the Spectacolo Sportivo was held on the track of Zandvoort.
Spectacolo Sportivo is a track-day for Alfa Romeo owners. There where a lot of Alfa’s some really normal but also some exclusive models. Besides the static display they where driving on the track. For this ocasion the pit boxes where used as shops for Alfa parts or other items that have something to do with Alfa Romeo.
The NK htgt organized 2 races on Sunday and a free practise and qualifying practise on Saturday.

Only a week after the TT (Moto GP) of Assen all the Dutch power pack race classes arrived on the track. Thursday all the mechanics arrived at the track to start building up the tent and to unload the 2 filled trucks.
Besides the GT4 Mustang the historic cars from Tachyon had to race this weekend. Michiel Campagne brought his new Corvette grand sport to a dutch track for the first time after he had raced it in England and France.

Monday night I went to Tachyon Motorsport to help with the preparations for the third race of the NK-htgt season. This race will be held at Dijon-Prenois a beautiful track with a lot of history. Unfortunately the crew leaves already on Wednesday because the free practice will start on Thursday. I wanted to go with Tachyon but this event consumes a little bit to much days off from CPM. I’m trying to finish my final project in time and I need these days off to go to the GT4 events and the drag race with Lex Joon Racing at Mantorp Sweden.
I worked on Michiel’s new car the Corvette Grand Sport. At the end of the evening I helped Maarten to start up the TVR Griffith and the Grand Sport. Both engines started up perfect and the cars are almost ready to go into the truck to leave Tuesday night. Maybe Tuesday evening I will assist with the last stuff that needs to be done.
