After a nice goodbye party in Coatzacoalcos I’m ready to leave to The Netherlands. All my luggage is packed and I will leave at 01.35 to Puebla to take the bus there to the airport. I will arrive around 12.00 in Mexico-City so that will give me some time to do some sightseeing. There are no buses that can take u there later that take me there before my flight that leaves at 20.15.

Tuesday I’m back and I will start preparing for the first race weekend at Zandvoort wednesday.

After some deep thoughts and considerations. I decided to come back to the Netherlands the 30th of March. I’m coming back to start my professional career mainly at Tachyon Motorsport. About the other activity’s I will keep your posted. The first race I will be attending will be the Paasraces in Zandvoort. After 3.5 months of relaxing I figured out that that is not what I want to do another 3 months. I want to get back an focus me as much as possible on Racing and everything that goes with that. Meanwhile In my last two weeks I travel as much as possible through Mexico to enjoy it to the fullest.

This weekend I’m in Mexico-City to visit the concert of Coldplay. Denisse and I already went to this viva la vida tour october 2008 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Now they are finally in Mexico. Denisse is a big fan so she didn’t want to miss it. It is nice to visit Mexico-City again. More news later

After an cold week in Xalapa it is time to go to Coatzacoalcos. Will I’m writing this I’m in the bus for a 6 hour trip. We where stopped 10 min ago at the toll station. A soldier came in to the bus and then the funny part starts. He wonders true the bus he looks more like somebody that lost his cellphone. Then he comes closer and looks behind me for what? “nobody knows”. Denisse reminds me if I have my passport close and then the guy asked me where I’m going?(couldn’t he ask that the bus driver he knows best) then he want to look in my bag (the only bag he checked) of course no problem lots of wires from my laptop (would look weird for me a bunch of wires) he shined his magic flashlight in it and everything was oke. He didn’t even asked where I was from! I must say America can learn a lot from this country.

During my stay in Xalapa Denisse took me too a beautifull park in the middle of the city. For those 2 hours I really thought I wass the main actor of Jurrasic Park or Avatar. I made my first small movie with this park as the subject. To view it even better check the HD option.

For the first time in my life I didn’t celebrate my birthday at my place in Driemond.
What is a better place to celebrate your first birthday away from home in Mexico?

Denisse, her mom and her sister arrange a nice piñata. (paper object which needs to be demolished in order to get your candy out) This was my main task besides cutting the nice custom cake. Blindfolded I needed to make 24 rotations in order to inaugurate my 24th birthday. After that one shot of tequila and then I needed to hammer the piñata with a stick. Luckily the piñata made a lot of sound so it was easy to find without sight.

Thanks to everybody who was there I had a great time and I bet you too, laughing at me

After 2 weeks of Dallas Mexico feels like coming home. After 2 flights with screaming kids it turned out to be a tough day afterall. At least for now I can continue my sunny holiday in Mexico. I also need to start doing exercise again because otherwise the Texas ribs will take their toll

The fact that it is still more then 20 degrees here in Mexico even when it’s winter makes it really unreal that tonight we will celebrate the new year. Maybe if you have lived here your entire live you don’t know any better but I’m more used to colder weather around this time.

Besides the climate the people around me also make it feel different. All the friend of Denisse had to work between Christmas and new years. In the Netherlands that is only normal in a few company’s. So for me I didn’t really noticed that it was already  the 31st of December.

This year i had some new challenge in racing which turned out to be really nice. I hope for next year it will even better all do the first part of the racing season I will still be in Mexico. I finished school this year so 2010 will be a totally different year the 2009. I hope the craziness doesn’t stop. At least here in Mexico a lot of crazy stuff happens on a daily bases.

After living a few days in Coatzacoalcos Denisse came up with the idea to make some oliebollen (dutch tradition pastry for December). We started getting all the stuff to make it but the first try didn’t went quit right. For me it was also the first time to make them. The following mistakes where made;

  • Wrong flower (with wheat)
  • Wrong yeast (didn’t rise)

So for the next try we already have all the right stuff. The Mexican friends of Denisse still liked it and they are almost gone. I thought they where a bit heavy to eat but one thing was clear u don’t eat more then one because u are full. Mean time I try to live together with a dog in one house. As most of my relatives know it is not my favorite.

(living in Mexico)
After a small comeback after my American Adventure I travelled to Mexico to live there for the next 6 months. I’m staying there with my girlfriend Denisse. I can still be reached through my email. My cell phone will quite working after 31 December.

After a long trip of over 16 hours by plane and bus I’m now trying to kill my jet-lag as soon as possible
