After an cold week in Xalapa it is time to go to Coatzacoalcos. Will I’m writing this I’m in the bus for a 6 hour trip. We where stopped 10 min ago at the toll station. A soldier came in to the bus and then the funny part starts. He wonders true the bus he looks more like somebody that lost his cellphone. Then he comes closer and looks behind me for what? “nobody knows”. Denisse reminds me if I have my passport close and then the guy asked me where I’m going?(couldn’t he ask that the bus driver he knows best) then he want to look in my bag (the only bag he checked) of course no problem lots of wires from my laptop (would look weird for me a bunch of wires) he shined his magic flashlight in it and everything was oke. He didn’t even asked where I was from! I must say America can learn a lot from this country.
Now the Xalapa story sometimes it was only 14 deg during the day and 4 during the night. I can tell now that that is pretty cold without a heather. The good news is that Denisse got all her papers signed and will now hear when she has to do her final presentation. For me the hole process of school here is extremely complicated. For example office one has to sign something office two says its wrong. “so just tell me what to do” thrust me if something like this happens in the Netherlands teachers will probably end up in the hospital.
The other funny thing here in Mexico is that schools close if bad weather is coming. Denisse told me that the schools will be closed the other day so I expected something hurricane style. A normal day during fall in Holland will give more movement of the air. So I asked Denisse why they do that? Well that kind of weather alarm is more for the small villages where schools are poorly build. These basic things makes u realize that it isn’t so normal to have a nice concrete or brick school building where everything is well organized. But we don’t have nice fresh decent food in front of the school for €1,50.
