Only a week after the TT (Moto GP) of Assen all the Dutch power pack race classes arrived on the track. Thursday all the mechanics arrived at the track to start building up the tent and to unload the 2 filled trucks.
Besides the GT4 Mustang the historic cars from Tachyon had to race this weekend. Michiel Campagne brought his new Corvette grand sport to a dutch track for the first time after he had raced it in England and France.
My job this weekend was to do the data logging on the GT4 car and maintenance on a 1965 Ford Mustang driven by Karen Campagne. The historic mustang is an excellent race car which doesn’t need much maintenance but still a small problem did occurred. Due to 1 broken wire the car didn’t want to start before the Sunday race. Together with Willem we did some fast checks and found the problem in no-time. I didn’t watch here performance during the race because I already started packing together with Thiemo and Joris. But I heared the car finished the race without any problems and Karen Managed to drive 4! seconds faster then during the first race.
With the GT4 Ford Mustang we finally had a weekend in which we finished all races. The Friday training went pretty well and we managed to find a good setup for the car. Saturday Michiel and Allard both did a qualifying session in which Allard managed to get the 5th place. We are still looking to find that last 1 second to get to the first row on the grid. The first race was driven by Allard and after 2 laps the power steering broke down, this made it hard to finish the race. We changed the steering pump and Michiel drove a descend race from start to finish. Sunday afternoon the 50 min was started by Michiel from the 5th position on the grid. He dropped back a little but managed to stay in the center of the ranking. Then It was time for me to assist with the first drivers change of the season. I managed to get Michiel out and Allard in just in time. We drove exactly away from the pit lane in 1 min 35 sec. If u are to fast u will get a penalty which a lot of teams got because they changed the drivers to early or because they drove away to early. This resulted in a 9th place in race 3.

Next event will be at Spa, Belgium on the 25th of July. I wont be there because I’m going to Mantorp, Sweden with Lex Joon Racing.
