This weekend the second race of the dutch-GT4 championship will be at the track of Zandvoort.
After the last race the car had to be changed to comply with all the rules. The roll cage was not FIA approved and was made to comply with the American racing standards.
Sunday was also completely covered with sun. After a nice dinner the night before there was enough time to rest/wait for all the mechanics. The NK-htgt only drove 1 race this day that was going to start at 11.40.
Sunshine all over the place here in Zandvoort, The Netherlands. Tachyon brought 2 cars to this event and both are running fine. Both the drivers keep improving there lap-times over and over again.
This weekend it is time for the Historic Zandvoort Trophy. Tachyon Motorsport is going there with 2 cars the Ford Mustang and the Morgan +4. While Maarten the crew chief is going to England to race a newly build car by Tachyon I’m Managing the team at Zandvoort.
The historic zandvoort trophy is organised by the HARC which stands for “historic automobile race club”. This race will be the first race to count for the NK-htgt championship which is the dutch championship for touring cars and GT’s. Besides the NK-htgt other historic series will be there at Zandvoort. To see which other series are there and at what time they are driving the time schedule for this weekend can be viewed.
When I started at CPM Europe I discovered then one of my colleagues did something in racing as well. We started talking about racing and he told me that his former team Lex Joon Racing was looking for mechanics for this season. He gave me the cell phone number of the team manager, Gerda Joon and I decided to give her a call. After that we made an appointment to meet each other.
After a good long night of sleep we went to a small beach at the Elbe. The weather was perfect only the water was to cold to swim. I was enjoying the view of all the great ocean liners that where passing by. How closer they get the more u realise the scale of those vessels.
After a nice pasta dish prepared by “Le chef” we took a shower and went for a beer in the city center. The atmosphere was nice and everybody was enjoying the nice evening weather.
Next day it was time to go home again. After leaving Hamburg we got stuck in traffic right away. The road was 100% blocked so nothing else to do then waiting. After the road block we could finally pick up some speed to go to Holland again. Tomorrow I have to work at CPM Europe and family from Indonesia will arrive.
After a nice queens day visiting the Autocross (dirt track racing). I went to Germany to visit some friends in Hamburg. It was a nice trip but in Holland we had a lot of traffic. Here in Hamburg we watched the harbor and went on a kind of party boat. It as a kind of canal boat that takes u along the docks and all the big area’s where they store the containers. After that we went home to get some rest from the long day. Tomorrows we are gonna relax laying on a beach next to the Elbe.
